How do I get started with my group folders?
University IT Services (UIT) is currently working to migrate users from previous storage solutions to a common solution for centrally-managed group folders. If your workplace has not yet migrated to the new solution, you can contact your local IT support to find out how this work is being handled on your campus.

How do I access and work with the files in group folders?
Because your files are stored centrally, you can access them from anywhere via a network-connected group folder on your computer. However, the network folder requires you to be connected to the university network via a wired connection or WiFi on eduRoam, or via a VPN connection.

How do I work with my files outside of the university network?
When the device you want to use is not online via the university network, you need to connect via the University’s VPN service to access your group folder.
How do I work with my files if I have multiple computers?
You can work with files in your group folder by networking your group folder to multiple computers at the same time.

How do I manage permissions in my group folder?
How do I restore data that I accidentally deleted?
Windows users can restore files or folders via File Explorer. MacOS users need to contact the IT Service Desk to help in recovering lost material.

How do I order more storage space? How much does it cost, and who pays for it?
To order additional storage, you will need approval from your head of department (or equivalent manager), as it is your department (or equivalent) that pays for the storage.
