Store and share files
The department for University IT Services (UIT) offer a number of solutions for its employees with which they can store, share and work with their files.
Personal Folders
Full time employees at Uppsala University are entitled to a centralised personal folder – a personal storage space in which to store, access, share and work with files on a secure and backed-up centralised server. The current amount of storage included for full time employees is 100GB.

Your personal folder is stored on a centralised, reliable and scalable storage solution called Argos. University IT Services is working to migrate (move) all university users from local storage solutions over to Argos. Read more about the migration to Argos here. |
Shared Folders
Departments, units or groups who need to share files and folders over a long periods of time can order extended storage within the same storage solution as personal folders via the extended service Data Storage. The service allows access to one or several network drives where shared, as well as extended personal, storage can be saved.

Sensitive Data Storage
Vesta is an extended service that offer a platform where you can access a secure remote desktop area in which to store sensitive research data. The service is best suited for data preparation and analysis of research data or other sensitive data.

Storing Research Data
Dataportal Allvis is the system chosen by Uppsala University for storage of research data. Allvis is a centrally funded, and a limited volume is allocated to researchers and research project free of charge. The volume allocated is 200Gb. The maximum size of a single file that can be uploaded is 10 Gb. Dataportal Allvis has been classfied with CIA 233.

Sunet Box is a file storage and sharing service in the cloud. Share files with others in the university and college sector in Sweden as well as with other users on the internet.
