Computers and Client Management
University IT Services (UIT) has been tasked with providing client management as a central service. Client management involves managing users’ computers using a special tool that automatically updates applications and operating systems, installs new software and produces inventory records.
At present, a large number of computers are managed in the central client management platforms. These systems are installed directly on newly purchased computers, but also on existing computers. Individual staff members cannot connect themselves/their computers to a client management system: a decision is required from the head of department/equivalent.
