Managing email lists (through the Sympa service)
General information
An email list is a channel enabling you to easily send an email to a large number of recipients. It can also serve as a two-way communication channel for a group that wants to discuss a particular topic via email.
Uppsala University provides the Sympa service to manage email lists. The service manages email lists for the University and can archive messages sent via an email list.
Email lists that have not been used for two years are deleted.
Email lists in Outlook (the Exchange server) can only be used internally. You cannot send messages to this type of list externally. |
To order a new send list, please log in to Sympa and click the button 'Create list'.

Sympa is a mailing list system for e-mail messages. The system sends letters to those who are members of a list, regardless of their country or location. Sympa stores and logs the email addresses of the lists' owners and members. First and last names are also saved if the list is set that way. Personal data appearing in the text of the e-mail will be forwarded without change.
