To book premises for examination
E-exam (Digital Examination)
Digital examination, or e-exam for short, means that the students write their exam on a computer instead of on paper. There are currently 440 seats available for e-exam at Bergsbrunnagatan, and the exam hall att Klostergatan for students with special needs is also equipped for e-exams.
- Examinations for individual students who need adaptations.
- Adapting remote assessment.
- Digital exams are booked just like other exams at Tentamensamordningen. (Information is in Swedish)
Inspera Assessment
At Uppsala University the system procured for e-exams is called Inspera Assessment. When the student takes an e-exam in Inspera Assessment a specialised web browser is used: Safe Exam Browser. The browser makes sure that the student cannot access anything on the computer but the exam and any aids that are allowed. The student cannot surf the web except for pages that are explicitly allowed by the teacher who created the exam. The student cannot go backwards in the exam unless this is allowed.
Roles in Inspera
What you can do in Inspera depends on which role you have.
- Author — The Author role creates questions for the exam and defines the layout.
- Planner — The Planner role creates and administrates the exam occasion.
- Grader — The Grader role assesses and grades the exam.
The Author and Grader roles are commonly assigned to teachers while the Planner role is commonly assigned to course administrators. Your department might however assign the roles differently.
You apply electronically for your roles. The Planner role must first be approved by the head of your department. In order for your application to be processed you are also required to go an introductory course for that specific role. After you have attended the course, you will then be granted the role in the Inspera Assessment system.
Contact itsupport@uu.se for more information about the courses and when/where to attend. The majority of the courses are currently given via Zoom. If you have applied for the Grader role, you are welcome to attend the Open Workshop on Wednesdays at 14.30.
