Uppsala University spans almost 400,000 square metres and houses a wealth of valuable objects, equipment and personal property. We want the University to be a safe place for both employees and students. There are also problems with theft, with computers and mobile phones being a main target, and some doors need to be locked. It is therefore important to not hold open a locked door and let someone you do not know enter without asking who they are and who they are there to see.

There have been instances when unauthorised individuals found their way in through a locked door and then stuck around until everyone else had gone home. We are therefore continuing our work with a new surveillance procurement, where one goal is for security guards with dogs to perform rounds at the campus more frequently. The new work procedure and agreements will be presented before the summer.

The “Våga fråga” campaign, run by the Security and safety division, is a university-wide campaign.
