The University reports 34 confirmed cases of COVID-19 last week, 23 among students and 11 among employees. So far this week, eight confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered.
Region Uppsala reports that the impact of COVID-19 on the region’s health services remains slight.
This week, the regional health authority appeals to anyone who has symptoms to have a PCR test at one of the authority’s testing stations. If you use an alternative test method that turns up a positive result, the health authority would like you to supplement this test with a fresh PCR test at one of the regional testing stations. This is to enable contact tracing, which is not possible if you use alternative test methods.
In virtually all cases, individuals who contract COVID-19 and need hospital care have not been fully vaccinated. The health authority therefore continues to urge everyone to take their responsibility and go to the vaccination centre to receive their injections so as to acquire a high level of protection against COVID-19.
- If you are confirmed infected, the Communicable Diseases Act requires you to inform people whom you suspect you may have infected. As part of Uppsala University’s efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 infection, the University has created an online procedure to help you do this anonymously.
- Finally – follow the recommendations announced previously and keep up to date with the current rules of conduct.
