Information for note takers
Sharing notes means that you share your own notes from lectures on a course with another student. The assignment runs during the semester and is linked to a student, for as long as that student needs your notes. Afterwards, you can get a certificate.
Compensation
The compensation is 120 SEK/hour (plus a 12% holiday allowance). For tax technical reasons you need a Swedish social security number. If you are sharing your notes with more than one student in the same course, you will get an add-on of 120 SEK per student and week.
What entitles you to compensation?
- The compensation you get is for sharing your notes - not for the note-taking itself.
- You will get compensation for one hour per day for days when you have taken notes and shared your notes.
To collect your compensation you will need to:
- email your name, social security number (personnummer), email address, telephone number and the student's name to arvodenstudentstod@uu.se when you are starting your assignment.
- register in the University's payment system.
We may ask you to also send in the current course schedule(s).
You are personally responsible for reporting your hours. Please read our information on the payment procedure.
Instructions for note taking
- Write neatly, preferably with headings and subheadings
- Allow some space between the lines
- The easiest way is to write the notes on your computer and then send them by e-mail. If you or the student want to make copies of your notes, contact your department for help.
- Make sure to provide the notes after each class, on the same day. Come to an agreement with the student.
- Every semester that you act as a note taker, the student must notify us.
- If you are unable to take notes in a class you must arrange for someone to replace you.
