Student health services

Student Health Services

The Student Health Services offers both preventative healthcare and treatment, in the form of individual counselling, information, seminars, workshops and group meetings. The Student Health Services also works with preventative lifestyle issues and education for students with positions involving student contact.

The Student Health Services offer support and counselling to students in Uppsala: at Uppsala University, SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) and Johannelund School of Theology. We have an office in Uppsala and one at Campus Gotland. At our facilities in Uppsala, there is a light room, which is open for students during the winter half-year.

Student support

Our speciality is mental health and we work both preventative and active with individual counselling. Students can contact us for support and counselling and if the Student health service is deemed the right instance for the student to get help, an appointment is made for individual counselling. If not, then we help refer the student to another instance.

Every semester the Student health service offers groups and seminars, free of charge. Information about the student helath services is available at the Student gateway.

For university employees

Teachers, study counsellors and other university employees can sometimes meet students who are stressed, or having problems with mental health or their studies. It is important to know where students can turn. If you feel unsure of how to handle the situation, you can always contact us, and we will try to help the best we can.

Telephone: +46 18 471 69 00
Email: studenthealth@uu.se for emails to the office in Uppsala, alternatively studenthealth-cg@uu.se for emails to the office at Campus Gotland.

Lectures and courses on demand

In addition to the regular range of seminars and groups for students, the Student Health Services also offers lectures and courses on request from, for example, student associations, study counsellors, or programme managers. Feel free to contact us if you want to book us for a lecture or course.

The Student health regulations

In the Higher Education Ordinance 1 chapter 11 § (1993:100), it says that "The higher education institutions shall be responsible for providing students with access to health care, in particular preventive health care intended to promote the physical and mental health of the students".
