2. Reactive work – handling of harassment cases under the Discrimination Act (March 2023)
The HR Division offers the head of the department, local HR and the Equal Opportunities officers to participate in training focusing on handling harassment cases and counteracting structural or sexual harassment. The training is based on the requirements of the Discrimination Act for higher education institutions to investigate and take measures on individual cases of harassment and to counteract structural or sexual harassment in the workplace and education.
How a case of harassment should be handled by department/equivalent is set out in the University's guidelines: Guidelines for handling cases of harassment under the Discrimination Act.
Information on the legal requirements, definitions of key concepts, and suggestions for prevention are available on the employee portal at the webpage: Procedures to prevent harassment and reprisals.
To be able to focus on practical aspects of handling harassment, you who take the course are expected to have read the above information on the Employee Portal and the University's guidelines for handling harassment.
During the training, you will, among other things, discuss some cases in small groups and then receive feedback on your discussions when we reconvene as a large group. Examples of interesting legal cases will also be presented during the training.
