The 2020 call for capacity building project in Latin Amerika resulted in tough competition and only 13% was granted funding by EU. Uppsala University will be the coordinator for the new Erasmus+ capacity building project VAMOS -Virtual Exchange to Tackle Wicked Problems: Latin American and European Collaboration on Education for Sustainable Development. The 2-year project will start in January 2021 and has a budget of 738,990 Euro.
VAMOS brings together six universities from Latin America (Honduras and Brazil), two universities from Europe (Uppsala, Padua) and one NGO with a focus on professional development for virtual exchange (Unicollaboration). It will facilitate an exchange of good practice in internationalization, virtual teaching and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The consortium will develop a virtual course in which students from all partner universities will work with the local/global sustainability issues (Wicked Problems).
VAMOS is coordinated by the Unit for Global Partnership of Uppsala University in cooperation with Swedish International Centre of Education for Sustainable Development (SWEDESD) and the master programm Sustainable Destination Development at Campus Gotland.
