But it will actually be week 27 with a final event in Almedalen that rounds off the half-year for Medfarm. For many, Almedalen will also be the end of the term, but at the same time a return to business as usual. Usual in a positive sense.

It has been three years since we in Sweden were last able to meet, interact and mingle, but now, hopefully, we are back. With an election year on the horizon, my hopes and beliefs are that politicians, opinion leaders and professionals will arrive in Visby to discuss and share knowledge.

Our Campus Gotland gives us, as a university, excellent opportunities to play a central role in this event, together with other universities, authorities and, above all, in collaboration with the country's politicians, both locally and nationally.

Medfarm will be present throughout the week, giving a total of ten seminars. We will start as soon as Sunday, when we will begin by focusing on AI in addiction care. We then have a wide-ranging programme highlighting everything from precision medicine, the future of biological drug manufacturing, and discussions on medical cannabis to how clinical trials in healthcare are best conducted. The complete programme is available at www.almedalsveckan.info/program.

I look forward to a stimulating final summer week in Visby, which I hope will provide new thoughts and ideas to put into practice after the July heat.
