The Vice-Chancellor has decided to support the student magazine Ergo for three years (2022-2024). This year, SEK 850 000 is allocated, in 2023 SEK 750 000 and in 2024 SEK 650 000.

The issue of funding for Ergo became acute in spring 2021 when the Uppsala Student Union Board planned to close Ergo. The University offered funds to temporarily pause the process of closing the student magazine and Ergo could continue its activities. Now the Vice-Chancellor has decided on continued support for three years.

Ergo switched from a paper magazine to an online magazine in spring semester 2020 to save money. Ergo is independent of the Uppsala Student Union board and the opposition.
