Now we need you to continue our journey forward in quest of new discoveries and valuable achievements. Uppsala University’s charter was signed on 2 July 1477. Initially, teaching at the University mainly consisted of lectures in philosophy, law and theology.

How the University is organised today
Uppsala University consists of three disciplinary domains, nine faculties and numerous departments and divisions. It is governed by a University Board (Konsistoriet) and has a Management Team made up of the Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, the University Director and three Vice-Rectors.
