Staff mobility for teaching (STA)
Teaching at a partner university, a so called Staff mobility for Teaching (STA), means that a teacher teaches at Uppsala University at least 8 hours/week. Activities that may count as teaching include all types of teaching of students where the teacher is physically present at the host university, e.g. seminars, lectures and tutoring. The goal for the teacher is to have a chance to develop professionally and personally, to strengthen contacts between the partner universities, and to spread knowledge to the host and home university.
Staff mobility for training (STT)
Employees at partners to Uppsala University may receive the grant to improve their skills and develop their work by going to Uppsala University to do ”job shadowing”, working next to colleagues that have similar work tasks. PhD students may also go on staff training, if the activity is connected to the PhD student´s possible future career or current work at the home university. The staff training should be full time.
International Staff week
During the week staff from our Erasmus+ ICM partners will have an opportunity to learn more about internationalisation, research, education and student engagement at Uppsala University. Please note that you are expected to participate in the full week. A sum covering lunches will be deducted from your grant. To apply for the staff week please indicate yes under “I would like to participate in the International Staff Week” in the application form.
Next International Staff Week will take place in May 2023. This event is now full and it is no longer possible to apply for participation.

COVID-19
Erasmus grant applications will not be approved as long as there’s a valid decision by the Vice-Chancellor hindering international staff mobility and/or the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, MFA, is advising against international travels due to the spread of the COVID-19 at the planned start date for the mobility. And if there is an advise against travel to a specific country/specific countries due to COVID-19 no Erasmus grants might not be approved to those countries. All grant approvals are therefore conditional.
Due to COVID-19 staff members applying for an Erasmus staff mobility grant are recommended to:
- To follow the development via government websites.
- To be flexible while planning the staff mobility, especially in regards to start date
- To notify the Division for Internationalisation of any potential changes: erasmus@uu.se
