I am working as a senior researcher on antibiotic resistance. I am trying to understand how antibiotic resistance develops in clinical settings as well as in laboratory experiments.

  • Antibiotic resistance development in biofilm.
  • Understanding the genetic background of heteroresistance (a clonal sample with different levels of minimal inhibitory concentrations against antibiotics) in clinical samples.
  • Antibiotic resistance development at sub-MIC concentrations of antibiotics

Keywords

  • antibiotic resistance
  • biofilm
  • heteroresistance
  • sub-mic

Biography

This text is not available in English, therefore the Swedish version is shown.

My research are within a broad range of topics connected to Microbiology. I started with cell cycle regulation of hyperthermophilic Archaea, followed by microbial ecology and metagenomics to find enzymes that suppresses fungal growth, evolution of mitochondrial remnants and currently I am working with antibiotic resistance. Within antibiotic resistance I am perticular interested in resistance in biofilm, resistance development and mechanisms behind resistance in heteroresistance and at sub-inhibitory concentrations of antibiotics.
