Biography

My main research interests are in the fields of modern European history and Jewish history, in particular questions that intersects the political and the social. My doctoral dissertation, published under the title The Swedish Jews and the Holocaust (2017), focused on how the Jewish communities in Sweden responded to the Holocaust. I am currently working on several research projects that deals with Jewish history in the post-war years. The main project is concerned with Swedish efforts to rehabilitate, integrate and re-emigrate Holocaust survivors in the post-war years. Together with the historian Johannes Heuman I am co-editing a volume about early Holocaust testimonies, and with the legal historian Michael Livingston I am co-authoring a book on Sweden-Israel relations.

I have also conducted research in military history and was a visiting fellow at University of Oxford’s Changing Character of War Programme (2017).
