Sebastian Andres Reyes Molina

As a former trial lawyer and having brought litigation in several areas before the Chilean Supreme Court, Sebastián Reyes developed an interest in legal realism and evidence law. His research focuses on the overlaps between legal interpretation and evidential reasoning. His main areas of competence are philosophy of law, political philosophy, epistemology, and ethics.

Research

As a legal researcher, Sebastián has focused his work on the fields of philosophy of law, constitutional law, evidence law, and criminal law. Sebastián has published several papers on the relationship between truth and law, legal interpretation, legal indeterminacy, standards of proof, judicial discretion, and legal realism.

Currently, he holds the prestigious Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Fellowship at Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (2022). His work addresses the impact of moral disagreements in legal adjudication.
