The National Centre for Knowledge on Men’s Violence Against Women (NCK) at Uppsala University and Uppsala University Hospital is now moving to enhance its research profile. A new professorship is being appointed and two researcher positions have been created. In connection with this, the centre has been moved closer to the Department of Women's and Children's Health.

Now it is easier to research the history of innovation in Sweden. All patents that were granted in Sweden from 1746 to 1945 have been digitalised and gathered into a searchable database – Historical Swedish patents – in a collaboration between the Swedish Intellectual Property Office (PRV) and Uppsala University. A national survey has been conducted to determine how common gender-based vulnerability and sexual harassment are in academia. The official inauguration of Building 10 at the New Ångström Laboratory with ribbon cutting by Crown Princess Victoria was held on 13 May. “With its fantastic flexible classrooms and modern lab rooms, I’d like to say that this facility is almost unique in Europe,” said Johan Tysk, Vice-rector of the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology.
