New ways to order SJ tickets
The TIM card (Trafik i Mälardalen) has been eliminated; the first choice is now to purchase tickets via the SJ app or online. Do not purchase train tickets with your own credit card, cash or travel funds – these methods involve time-consuming and costly handling.
SJ no longer offers the TIM (Trafik i Mälardalen) invoice card. This means you must choose another option for booking travel, even within Mälardalen. There are many options for booking domestic train tickets with SJ; one of the easiest is to connect the university’s corporate account to an SJ app. It is also possible to call the university’s contracted travel agency.
Do not purchase tickets with a private credit card, travel funds or with cash; these methods involve time-consuming handling.
“Private purchases mean you will travel at full price and the administration will be more expensive. This is an unnecessary private expense that could be handled more conveniently with direct invoicing to the university. Nor do you need to register anything in Primula. With corporate solutions, we purchase SL/UL/SJ tickets at more advantageous prices and with better terms,” says Marie Engegard, travel coordinator at the university.
