"The starting point for the review of the system for resource allocation to research and doctoral education, is Vision:Medfarm," says Vice-Rector Mats Larhed. We have clarified goals and strategies for research in the disciplinary domain, through this work. Today's resource allocation model has been around for a long time, and it is difficult to understand and connect to today's goals.

The purpose of the investigation is to provide a factual basis for decisions on a new resource allocation model. The investigation will take place through a broad process.

The investigation will be led by an external investigator, David Samuelsson. He is educated in Computer Science at Uppsala University and holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University. He has worked for eight years with research and higher education at the Ministry of Education.

The investigation work starts immediately with the collection of factual data and interviews with people from institutions and organizational units. The evaluation shall result in a written report in October 2022.
