After a break during the pandemic, the Uppsala public was able to take part in the Soapbox Science event for the second time ever. For three hours, almost 400 people listened and interacted with the twelve scientists who talked about algae in lakes, marine ecosystems, the use of computers to study how molecules fit together or to develop new magnets for wind turbines, among other topics.

From the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy, Angela Fuentes Pardo described how genetic tools can be used to preserve herring, Susanne Lager talked about the amazing organ the placenta, Ulrika Löfkvist explained how communication builds the brains of young children, and Ella Thiblin spoke about how more people can get the correct care with e-health.

The event was organised jointly by Uppsala University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences as part of the U-Share project.
