Since its formation in 2019, the Division for University IT Services (UIT) has provided IT specialists to the entire university. The rates for IT services such as "extended support", "technical system administration" and "system development" have not been revised since UIT started its operations. However, as costs have increased over time, an adjustment of the rates for IT specialists is now necessary.

The new rates are divided into three levels:

Rate 1: SEK 500/hour  Extended support (AVVK, computer rooms, shared computers, etc.)
Rate 2: SEK 700/hour  System administration, operation and development
Rate 3: SEK 850/hour  Project management, architecture, integrations and business development

The new rates apply from May 15, 2022, as well as to all agreements and contracts that are renegotiated or renewed after this date. UIT has chosen not to increase the rates for agreements and contracts signed before May 15, which means that for a time, different rates will be charged for the same service depending on when the contract or agreement was signed.

Another important update is that, from now on, IT services will be specified and charged per time spent and/or allotted to an agreement/contract. Agreements and contracts for IT services have previously been formulated as a percentage of a full-time position (HTE). Unfortunately, this has been shown to be problematic, which is why UIT is now abandoning that method. Instead, UIT will charge for the time spent on a specific task or for the number of hours per year or month specified in the underlying agreement/contract.
