University IT Services has Launched
The 7th October the Division for University IT Services began its operations. This organizational change will not mean much to IT users initially – you can turn to the same support function as before.
Contact information for all IT users at the university can be found on the Employee Portal (MP) under IT and telephony. Under Your local IT support you will find contact information for all local support organizations on different campuses. For those of you who use IT Service Desk as your first contact with IT support, contact information can be found under IT Service Desk as before.
Nearly 200 employees who previously worked in about eighteen different organizations at the university are now gathered in the new Division for University IT Services (UIT). The new financing model for IT operations will be introduced in 2020 - until then the old and the new administrative and financial organizational structures will run in parallel.
This change has been implemented to better meet demands for quality, service, security and efficiency in the IT area, today and in the future. Uppsala University is to be a centre for world-leading research and first-class education with the support of activity-driven, qualitative, secure and efficient shared IT solutions. IT of the highest quality and forward-looking IT solutions should contribute to the University’s development and competitiveness.
