Researchers are given the opportunity to team up with companies, public or non-profit organisations to apply for up to SEK 300,000 in order to establish a collaboration on issues of common interest that have the potential to create benefits for society.

VFS offers an opportunity for the university's researchers and organisations from different sectors in society to develop collaboration around a challenge of common interest. The funding is intended to test - verify - whether the partners have enough in common to build on, for example, to seek additional funding for continued collaboration.

The application process

Applications for VFS funding are always made in consultation with the University's innovation partnership office who can help with feedback on your application to ensure that it meets basic requirements and criteria making it as competitive as possible.

Each year, there are two application periods for VFS funding.

Key dates, spring 2022:

  • 21 March - deadline for draft application
  • 8 April - deadline for complete application (at 16:00)
  • 30 May – Samverkansrådet is meeting
  • Mid-June - decision on funding
  • 1 September - granted projects can start
