Surely you haven’t missed that the University’s Vice-Chancellor Anders Hagfeldt has started his own blog? The Rektorsblogg (Vice-Chancellor’s blog) was started in December 2021 and is currently in Swedish only.

At the time of writing, there are currently two posts on the blog.

In the post “Hate and threats to researchers must be taken seriously”, the Vice-Chancellor notes that a free and unencumbered search for knowledge lies at the core of universities. It is crucial that social development is based on evidence from research and that this new knowledge reaches decision-makers and the public. But also that those of us who are active at higher education institutions need to be aware of and support researchers who are victims of hatred and threats in the departments and in the University as a whole.

In the post “University rankings affect us and can be used wisely”, the Vice-Chancellor discusses how we can approach university rankings as a higher education institution and concludes by observing that if we take on board other people’s assessments of the University’s development in a sensible way, it can only be to our advantage.
