University IT Services (UIT) is currently conducting an upgrade of the storage infrastructure that manages major University-wide systems such as the Student Portal and the Staff Portal. This involves an extensive and long-planned migration process (movement of data files). The purpose of the migration is to guarantee the stable and secure operation of these systems in the future.
The migration of large quantities of data to the new storage solution may lead to a number of systems being unavailable for a considerable time. The migration of the Student Portal and the Staff Portal is therefore planned to take place at the weekend.
The planned dates and times of systems migration are as follows:
| Staff Portal | friday 11 June, 18:00 – sunday 13 June, 23:59 |
| Student Portal | saturday 19 June, 00:00 – sunday 20 June, 23:59 |
The process has been planned and tested, but major operations of this type always involve risks. UIT recommends that you plan your work based on the times in this process. You should therefore expect not to be able to use these systems during the days when the upgrades and migration are being conducted.
