“We have reached a new phase where questions will be handled by relevant departments and divisions, not by crisis management. We have therefore set up an auto-response for corona@uu.se referring to the normal organisational units and channels,” says Director of Communications Pernilla Björk.

Most emails have been about HR issues, such as work environment, quarantine, pay, etc., in other words, how employees and employers are to deal with the current situation, with reference to the existing rules.

Questions from students have included why courses were not cancelled before the decision on distance education, criticism that decisions were not taken earlier and why decisions are no longer in effect. Many questions have also come in about placements.

“We have also received good tips and ideas on how we can support the health services and people at risk, from both staff and the general public. People are very creative,” says Shirin Mavadati at the Division for Central Services, one of those who has covered the email address corona@uu.se during this period.
