Uppsala University is part of the Matariki Network, which is named after the Māori name for the constellation known as the Pleiades star cluster. The Matariki network is a university network with seven members from Australia, Europe, North America and New Zealand.

The network announces a call for seed funding for bi-, tri- and multilateral research projects involving researchers from at least two universities in the network.

Applications from all thematic areas are welcome, but applications related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals are particularly welcome. Projects must demonstrate alignment to the network's five guiding principles and values (see link in the fact box).

Applications from early-career researchers (up to 6 years from PhD) are encouraged.

Apply by 8 December 2023.
