Following the safety stoppage by the University’s cleaning services earlier this year, the subsequent risk analysis has prompted a need to urge all staff and students to respect the work of the custodial technicians by keeping their distance and letting them work in peace and quiet without worrying about infection.
“Our profession cannot carry out its duties from home. Regrettably, as things are now, the 2 metre rule is not respected and so we are issuing this appeal to respect the work of the cleaning services and follow the guidelines on maintaining distance,” says Gun Ekman, head of the Cleaning Services Unit at Uppsala University.
