“We currently have around 25–35 active members, but anyone interested in joining is welcome to contact us,” says the choir’s coordinator, Erik Åstrand.

The choir members come from various departments and disciplinary domains.

“It’s an interesting mix of people; old and young, administrators and professors.”

Åstrand notes that many people look forward to rehearsals. It breaks up the working week and fosters an enduring sense of well-being, which is backed up by a large body of research on the effects of choir singing.

“So far I have only ever seen positive effects. It benefits both physical and mental health. A perfect way to use your wellness hour, for instance!”
