What intellectual assets hide in your research project? Join fellow doctoral students, postdocs and researchers from different parts of the university to learn more about intellectual property and its role in research and for strengthening the value and impact from research outcomes.

The course will give you a broad overview of different types of intellectual property (IP) and how it can be used to add value to research outcomes, from describing impact in grant applications to licensing and creating innovation and startups. It will also provide tools for finding useful information from patents as well as for structuring and presenting research outcomes from an impact point of view.

The course is provided by UU Innovation in collaboration with the Swedish Patent and Registration Office. In the course, you will meet experienced advisors from Uppsala University Innovation, and experts from the Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV).

The course includes four half-day seminars during the period 8-29 September, and is held online. For PhD students, the course provides 3 ECTS in your postgraduate education. Other participants who complete the course will receive a course diploma.
