Dr Shafqat Ahmad, a postdoctoral researcher with the Molecular epidemiology group at the Department of Medical Sciences, receives the prestigious Rising Star Award from the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) supported by EFSD/Novo Nordisk foundation about the project “Molecular signatures of meat intake and risk of type 2 diabetes”. The award consists of an award lecture at the 55th EASD Annual Meeting in Barcelona, Spain in September, and €30,000 in research funding.
