The decision was taken by the Vice-Chancellor on 30 March and supersedes previous decisions.
In a change compared with previous practice, an access card and code will normally be required to access University premises – a decision that applies to both students and employees.
The decision also emphasises the importance of maintaining a distance (social distancing) in University premises.
As regards working from home, all members of staff should agree on this with their manager – if and when their duties allow it. Moreover, members of staff who belong to an at-risk group or who live with a person in an at-risk group should be given the opportunity to work from home as far as possible.
