UU Innovation's mentor programme is aimed at researchers and doctoral students at Uppsala University who have started taking steps to develop a research-based idea for wider use. Each participant is matched with an experienced mentor working outside academia. The mentor shares knowledge and contacts and provides an additional sounding board during the development of your idea.

This should help participants gain new perspectives, knowledge and a broader network to advance more quickly with their innovation projects. The overall aim is to make knowledge and results from research more useful and beneficial to more people.

For people and ideas from all disciplinary domains

The UU Innovation mentor programme is for anyone from third-year doctoral students to professors, in all research fields. The programme is suitable both for those seeking to start development of a research-based idea as well as for those already well underway with an innovation project.

Six meetings from September through May

The UU Innovation Mentor Programme has two programme starts per year, spring and autumn. The next round of the programme will start in September 2023 and end in May 2024. During this period, you will meet with your mentor on at least six occasions according to a plan agreed between you. Simultaneously, you will receive coaching and support from UU Innovation advisors, for example in financing and intellectual property law - support that will continue even after the mentor programme ends.
