About the Sjöberg Foundation

The Sjöberg Foundation was founded by Bengt Sjöberg in 2016 and is tasked with supporting cancer research. Every year, the Foundation awards the Sjöberg Prize of one million US dollars, grants approximately 50 million kronor to various projects as well as contributes to establishing a national biobank for cancer research (PPMC) and uniform patient overviews.

This year's calls

In 2022, the Sjöberg Foundation will provide grants in these research areas:

  • Preventive measures and nursing, including complementary and integrative medicine and measures against long-term complications
  • Early diagnosis and difficult-to-treat cancers with poor prognosis as well as drug repurposing

The Foundation welcomes applications for unconventional medicines or treatment methods.
