The overriding aim is to promote research of the human brain at Swedish universities. In particular, patient-related and clinically focused research will be given priority. The foundation also aims to stimulate younger researchers.

The research programme must contain clear goals so that the results can be evaluated.

The announcement is addressed to scientists at any Swedish university, with a PhD degree after 1 January 2017. Time for parental leave and any AT service may be settled.

How should the application be written?

You can write your application in either Swedish or English. It should contain, among other things, information on project managers, fund managers and the grant amount applied for, as well as the following mandatory appendices:

  • Project description (research program)
  • Merit list
  • Budget

What should the project description look like?

Your project description may be a maximum of five A4 pages long, excluding references (12 point text size). Merge it with the other attachments into a joint PDF file.

The project description must contain:

  • Project title
  • Summary of the project (maximum 250 words)
  • Purpose, hypothesis and issue
  • Work plan
  • Relevance
  • Results achieved up to the present (it any)
  • Expected results in relation to the project objectives
  • The expected timeframe for how long the project will last
  • The scientific and practical significance of the project
