The University’s Recruitment Committee has decided, following the recommendations of the Electoral College, to propose to the University Board that Anders Hagfeldt should be Uppsala’s new Vice-Chancellor. Anders Hagfeldt is currently Director of the Laboratory of Photomolecular Science, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) – read a previous interview in the Staff Portal.

The Electoral College, which consists of 65 members, held a vote at its meeting on Monday and a clear majority voted for Anders Hagfeldt.

The result was confirmed and delivered to the Recruitment Committee, which followed the recommendations of the Electoral College. The committee will now deliver its proposal to the University Board for decision on 17 June, after which the decision passes to the government, which appoints the Vice-Chancellor.

30 September
The Recruitment Committee consults with the University Board on candidates to interview for the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the names of candidates to be interviewed are then submitted to the Electoral College. Candidates’ names are made public.
 

13 October
Interviews with candidates for the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor. 
 

21 October
The Electoral College delivers its proposal for Deputy Vice-Chancellor to the Recruitment Committee.
The Recruitment Committee delivers its proposal to the University Board.


12 November
The University Board decides on the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
