Investigate the work environment
Investigate the work environment as part of systematic work environment management
There are various ways to investigate the organisational, social and physical work environment. Investigations are carried out with the aim of identifying work environment risks that can be remedied immediately or documented in action plans.
At Uppsala University the department/equivalent can use an annual cycle for systematic work environment management, for example, to plan various investigation activities and other work environment management activities that are to be carried out during the year. The annual cycle is part of the plan for systematic work environment management or, alternatively, part of the plan for systematic work environment and equal opportunities management if the department/equivalent undertakes integrated work on systematic work environment and equal opportunities management.
The following working methods and templates are available as support for investigation of work environment conditions:
Organisational and social work environment review
Employee survey (external supplier)
Forum for work environment issues
Risk management in laboratory work
In addition, investigations of work environment conditions forms part of day-to-day activities through employees and students identifying and highlighting risks in their daily lives, which are then either remedied directly or documented in an action plan. The risk assessment with action plan for work environment management, which forms part of the plan for systematic work environment management or part of the plan for systematic work environment and equal opportunities management can be used if the department undertakes integrated systematic work environment management.
