The Matariki Network
The Matariki Network, which is named after the Māori name for the constellation known as the Pleiades star cluster, is a university network with seven members worldwide. The member universities are all among the oldest and most highly respected in their countries.
The members of the Network are:
- Dartmouth College (USA)
- Durham University (England)
- Queen's University (Canada)
- University of Otago (New Zealand)
- Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen (Germany)
- University of Western Australia (Australia)
- Uppsala University (Sweden)
The network's motto is "Partnering for a better world" and it includes collaborations within all areas of activity of the universities.
It is possible to apply for funds for travelling to develop cooperation within research and education, as well as shorter “work shadowing” for other employees. Funds can be applied for to arrange workshops.
Funds can be aslo be applied for an up to six-month-long research stay during at one of the universities in the Matariki Network (Matariki Fellow).
