Considering the large number of eager and motivated students and teachers that meet every term in order to arrange stimulating teaching and learning activities, it is important to be able to offer broad and flexible support so that teachers can meet the challenges of arranging such learning activities and to advance teaching.
The Unit of Academic Teaching and Learning can provide consultative support in several areas and multiple ways, everything from short-term efforts in the form of presentations to workshop series or specially tailored courses. Educational developers can attend teacher-training days or kick-offs at departments and provide personal consultation when needed. The Units consultant staff prefers to work closely with educational leaders at faculties and departments in order to implement and evaluate long-term educational efforts and developmental projects.
As of 2016 the Unit of Academic Teaching and Learning provides a flexible form of teacher competence training. Please look under Adaptable educational development training (AKU) for more information.
In most cases consultations are free of charge for Uppsala University employees.
