Mentimeter for interactive lessons
Uppsala University has a campus-wide agreement with unlimited licenses for the use of Mentimeter, an easy-to-use tool for online voting and interactive, engaging sessions. Using Mentimeter, you can ask questions during a presentation. The audience can respond using their smartphones, web browsers, or other mobile devices. The results are displayed directly on the screen. Mentimeter can also be used for conducting surveys prior and after lectures.
To get access to Mentimeter, you will use your UU-ID. Please navigate to http://www.mentimeter.com/join/uppsalauniversitet to sign up.
Mentimeter helps you to:
- Collect student opinions and questions during or outside your lectures
- Motivate to participate more actively, since Mentimeter brings variation into your lecture
- Assess what students know about a specific theme and if they are up to date
- Encourage group discussions. Since the results are displayed immediately, you can use them to start a discussion.
- Give silent students a voice, since they can answer questions anonymously
- Better prepare students for your lecture by having them fill out a poll in advance
