About the business insurance
For Uppsala University, there is a business insurance at Kammarkollegiet which administers the state insurance system.
The business insurance consists of three partial insurances: property insurance, consequential loss insurance and liability insurance and supplementary insurance especially for: property outside Sweden's territorial boundary, art objects, museum objects and temporarily borrowed art and museum objects.
The security and safety department handles the business insurance.

In the event of knowledge of damage to property, consequential damage, liability for damages or damage to art or museum objects, a report of such must be prepared as soon as possible.

Risk management
In order to insure property, the university must identify risks of damage or loss that exists, evaluate the risks and introduce appropriate measures to prevent damage or loss.
Risk management includes:
- Evaluate the risks and calculate the costs that can arise from damage or loss.
- Introduce appropriate measures to mitigate risks and prevent damage or loss.
