The campus card is a multi-function card including a photo of the cardholder. If you study or work at the university, you should have a campus card. If you have questions, see below. From January 2018 the campus card will also be used for borrowing books and other printed matters at the university library.

Distans education courses or completed studies?

Students who participate in distance learning courses and spend only a few days on the University premises, or that have completed their studies , do not need a campus card. If you belong to one of these categories you can ignore the campus card request e-mails.

Note that if you want to be able to borrow printed matters at the university library you do need a campus card.

If you are new at Uppsala University

As a new student you need to have a current course registration to obtain a campus card. You also need to activate your user account beforehand, to be able to receive the e-mail containing campus card instructions.

Information on how to activate your user account can be found at https://konto.weblogin.uu.se/index.html. The instruction message is usually sent out 24 hours after the activation, but sometimes it can be a delayed a further day.

As a new employee the staff at your department will instruct you on how to activate your user account. If you haven't received the instruction message 24 hours after activation, contact the Head of department.

How do I obtain a campus card?

Instructions on how to obtain your campus card will be sent to the e-mail address registered to you in the student database (Uppdok) or the personell database (AKKA).

If you are a student and have activated forwarding the message should be at the forwarded e-mail address. The instructions are also included in the reminder sent to those who have not collected their campus cards.

If you do not receive a message, or if you have any other questions, please see below.

How do I collect my campus card?

Once you have ordered the card according to the instructions, you will be notified via e-mail when your card is available for pickup at your campus reception desk. When you collect the campus card you will need to show an approved identification (driver's licence, passport etc).

As a student you also need to have a current course registration. Please make sure you have a current registration before attempting to collect your campus card.

If you already have an old-type gray card

On January 18th, 2017, the old cards will cease to function. Please help your reception desk and avoid queueing by obtaining the new card as soon as possible.

Access rights on the old card will automatically be transferred to your campus card.

NB! Printing access is NOT automatically transferred! You need to personally make sure that the new card works for printing and copying - please see instructions at http://www.uu.se/student/it-for-studenter/utskrifter-kopiering.
