Distribution of responsibilities
The Vice-chancellor has the ultimate responsibility for the fire protection and fire-prevention work at Uppsala University.
The Chief Security Officer handles general issues concerning the University fire-prevention work. A security coordinator and an environmental chemist assists the CSO regarding rules, regulations and education regarding the systematic fire-prevention work (SBA).
The Head of Department is responsible for the fire protection at his/her department and designates fire protection inspectors and chemical representatives to handle the systematic fire-prevention work (SBA) at the department.
The Campus Manager at each campus has the following responsibilities for the fire protection:
- Partake in fire protection inspections
- Plan and carry out evacuation practices regularly
- Coordinate the campus fire protection inspectors
- Summon fire protection inspectors to fire-prevention meetings
The Fire protection inspector handles the systematic fire-prevention work at the department.
