Working for a better environment
The University’s environmental management system
An environmental management system (EMS) is a set of tools that help an organisation to systematically allocate responsibilities, prioritise, communicate, follow up and monitor the impact of measures to improve the environment.
The illustration below shows how environmental work is organised at Uppsala University. The environmental director and coordinator at the University coordinate and pursue policy measures, using the EMS.
For more information about the respective stages of the EMS, see the navigation panel to the left.
