Laboratory glassware
Laboratory glassware, e.g. E-flasks and beakers are not packaging and should therefore not be left in the glass recycling. Laboratory glassware usually consists of borosilicate glass, quartz glass or special glass, unlike glass packaging consisting of soda glass. If soda glass is mixed with other glass qualities, the possibility of recycling is destroyed. Laboratory glassware is divided into the following fractions:
1. Non-contaminated laboratory glass ( unbroken or broken) - pack well and handle as combustible.
2. Contaminated laboratory glass (completely and broken) -handle and label based on current contamination eg. infectious, radioactive, chemical residue etc.
