A good introduction to the new workplace will create a pleasant ambience and a sense of belonging. This will help the new co-worker to quickly adapt to their duties, which is an advantage for the workplace, from a humanitarian perspective as well as a financial one. Depending on the type of work, a period of six months up to a year and a half is estimated before the efficiency of a new employee is at top level. Uppsala University offers a general introduction consisting of digital elements on MP, a physical welcome meeting and a local introduction at the department/equivalent in question. The aim of the introduction is to offer our new employees an including and uniform welcome to the new workplace.
How do I proceed?
The head of department/equivalent is ultimately responsible for planning and implementation, but can delegate to a team leader/manager to ensure that the introduction program is adhered to.
