Before leaving Sweden
If an international employee or scholarship holder is to leave Sweden, there are a number of practical matters that the department should inform the person to do before departure.
Remind international staff to notify the Swedish Tax Agency about moving abroad
If the person plans to reside outside Sweden for a year or more, the person needs to notify the Swedish Tax Agency about moving abroad through the form ”SKV 7665 Notification, Moving Abroad”. The Swedish Tax Agency needs to be informed at the latest one week before departure.
Remind international staff to notify the Swedish Social Insurance Agency about moving to or working abroad
For the Swedish Social Insurance Agency to investigate whether the international employee or scholarship holder is to be insured in Sweden during the stay abroad, the person needs to send in the form “5459 Information about moving to or working in another country “. The form can be downloaded at the Swedish Social Insurane Agency’s website.
Remind international staff to terminate agreements and more before departure
The department should remind the international employee or scholarship holder to terminate:
- Housing lease contract
- Water supply contract
- Gas and electricity supply contract
- Phone subscription
- Internet subscription
- Private Insurances/Home insurances
- Child care and school
- Bank account/automatic withdrawals
- Newspaper subscriptions
The department should remind the international employee or scholarship holder to
- Arrange with shipping of furniture and personal items
- Arrange with car de-registration
- Report change of address
- Look through national and occupational pensions when moving from Sweden
The department should remind the international employee or scholarship holder to return following to Uppsala University:
- University ID card (campus card)
- PC
- Phone
- Other items belonging to the university
The international employee or scholarship holder should also leave his/her new address to the HR administrator at the department.
