Join a meeting
Join with audio and video
Connect to the meeting by clicking the link in the invitation.
The client starts and connects to the meeting. If you do not have the Zoom client installed you can choose to join with your web browser. To do so, at the meeting web page click the link Join from your browser. You will get questions about using audio and video. Please click Join with video and then Join with Computer Audio.
We recommend that you use a headset.The built in microphone and speaker in your computer does not perform as well as a headset in an e-meeting.
The meeting window is a black windows at start. If other participants has started their video you will see them. You can change your view between Speaker View, where the one talking is presented with a big picture and Gallery View, where all participants ar presented with equal sized pictures. Your choice of view does not change the view for others - good to know!
A row of icons are at the bottom of the meeting window. If not, hover your mouse in that area and the icon row will pop up. Notice: Some icons can be hidden depending on the host settings.
We recommend to use the Zoom client for full functionality. Zoom client is available for Windows, MacOS, Linux and smartphone/surfpad with iOS and Android.
From your computer you can join a Zoom meeting with the Zoom client, web browser or Skype for business client.
Audio and Video
It's important that you at the very start of the meeting make sure that your microphone and camera is on. Look at the two icons at bottom left. In this example the camera is on and the video is visible in the meeting, but the crossed microphone states that it is off. Click the microphone icon once to turn it on. Let's make your voice heard!
If your audio is not working, (you can't hear others, or/and they can't hear you) click on the small arrow to the right of the microphone icon. In the menu that pops up you can choose microphone/speaker to use. You can also test your audio devices with Test Speaker and Microphone - just follow the instruction.
If your audio are problematic, check that
a) the computer audio is not off in computer settings
b) that the audio is not set to off on your headset
If you use the Zoom client, you can momentarily activate your microphone by holding down the space bar key on your keyboard.
You can stop video by clicking the video icon. To choose web cam, if you have more than one connected, click the small arrow right to the video icon and make a choice in the popup menu.
Joining by phone call
In the invitation you will find the number to call to join the meeting. There is also a meeting ID that you need to enter upon entry.
Join with traditional videoconferencing system H.323/SIP
The invitation includes all information you need to be able to join via H.323 or SIP.
You will find how that is done with your specific brand and model in your system manual.
